Seminar: 7 Traits of Biblical Parenting

As Christian parents, we are called to plant and nurture our children’s faith in God. But how do we do that? What does that actually look like?

In this first of a two-part series, we look at 7 Traits of Biblical Parenting. We will learn what purposeful Biblical parenting looks like and ways to put it into practice.

Membership Declaration & Church Directory

Hello E3C!

We would like to bring your attention to 2 important items requiring your action:

1. Membership declaration 2022

ECCC Bylaws state that all members (baptized at E3C or transferred members) must declare their membership to a particular congregation annually. Those who have 𝟱𝟬%+ participation in the ECCC regular functions (e.g. worship and prayer meeting) in the last 12 months are eligible to declare. DEADLINE: June 30, 2022.

Declaration is done online at this link:

https://bit.ly/ecccmembership2022

2. ECCC Church Directory 2022

As a church, we are creating a directory to facilitate communication and interaction pathways within our community. This information is for internal use, and is not for public distribution, and the contact information is not for commercial use. We encourage ALL E3C attendees to submit their information, as this directory is not limited to baptized members only.

Please follow this link to submit your information for the church directory:

Your participation in both of the above tasks is very important! Thank you for taking time to fill out those forms.

Sincerely,

ECCC Council

Missional Discipleship Fellowship

These two years have reshaped our lives with a pandemic, but COVID has not only suspended missions in our church; rather, for some of us, we've placed missions at the back of our minds. Do you have a passion for missions? Where are you spiritually with missions? Jesus has called us to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit (Luke 28:19).

ECCC will be launching a Missional Discipleship Fellowship. Join us on May 31, 2022 from 7:30-8:30PM at Lower HUB as we begin a fellowship group (that will meet every two months) as we share testimonies, go through the Word, discuss theological articles, pray for fellow brothers and sisters with a mission of seeking, encouraging and sharing the gospel outwards. Our first meeting will feature missional testimonies including Les Peters, head of Impact Ministries. As well, we will have a time of worship, small group discussion and prayer time. Dessert will be provided.

Easter Weekend

Good Friday Communion Service (April 15 @ 10:00 am) - This will be an in-person-only solemn worship service as we partake in the Lord’s Supper together and spend time reflecting on the cross. There will be Children’s Programs for Ages 3/4 to Gr. 6 upstairs in Kids Floor. Grade 7 and up will join the Good Friday worship in the Auditorium.  English nursery and Family Chapel will be opened for parents but will not be manned.

Baptismal Joint Worship – (Sunday, April 17 @ 10:00 am) We are having Sunday Programs for Age 3 to Grade 6 @ 10:00 am. Parents, please check in your children at Kids Floor. Grade 7 and up please join Family Worship in Auditorium. English nursery will be open for English congregation parents to drop off and Family Chapel is available for families with young children. Live Stream will also be available.

30 Days of Prayer for Muslims

Join us as we learn about and pray for our Muslim neighbours.

The material contains daily readings that focus on various topics, people groups and geographical areas of the Islamic world. It will begin on April 2nd to coincide with the Islamic Ramadan celebration and end on May 2. Each day’s subject focus is followed by prayer points. It also features informative background articles and resources for involvement.

To access the link, stay tuned during Sunday worship service for the password.

We will meet together during our English congregation prayer meeting on April 20 at 7:30pm for a special prayer time for our Muslim neighbour's.

COVID-19 Update - September 29, 2021

Dear brothers and sisters,

COVID-19 has impacted us as the ECCC family in so many ways. It is a difficult time for everyone. In this time, it is more important than ever that we approach the throne of God with a posture of humility and prayer.

You probably have many questions. However, we want to be honest with you. We do not have all the answers. We do not know how long this will go on. What we do know is that we will do our best to respond to your concerns and pray alongside you. We also know that this is the time for us now, more than ever, to come together as one church for God’s glory.

We have been asked several times about vaccinations and requirements. Firstly, as a place of worship, we are not included to be part of Alberta’s Restrictions Exemptions Program. Secondly, as ECCC, vaccination is not required to join us in worship, fellowship or any church activities. We remain true to our mission: To build a Christian community by reaching the people of Edmonton and beyond with the life-changing message of Jesus Christ. As it stands, we do not turn away or exclude anyone from church--Gentile or Jew, leper or healthy, vaccinated or unvaccinated. (Acts 15:19)

At the same time, we acknowledge that we are in the midst of a pandemic and people have different levels of fear and comfort. As ECCC, we strongly recommend vaccinations for those who are eligible. We can all play a part in protecting the health care system while showing love for members of our ECCC family. We continue to pray for those serving on the frontlines of our overwhelmed ICUs and hospitals.

The topics we covered here can be divisive and tough. There is information being shared from all sorts of directions and sources. These are uncharted waters and there is no answer that will please everyone. We pray that in this time, no matter where you are in your journey or what you may feel or think about another person’s journey, that the Lord will make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you. (1 Thess. 3:12)

If you or a brother or sister you know need prayer or help, or if you have further concerns, please know we are here for you. As always, please reach out to our elders, pastors, and leaders anytime.

Let us love and take care of one another,
ECCC
