Regarding Alberta's Easing of Public Health Restrictions

ECCC is aware of lifting of Alberta’s public health measures and is working on how it will affect our NextGen ministries. In the meantime, we will still maintain our NextGen ministries as it currently is:

  • - Samuel, Petros and Saturday programs have resumed in-person.

Please continue to pray for the ministry, the volunteers, and the students during this transition time. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at kids@eccc.ca.

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO PARENTS DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Dear Parents,

First we want to thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate these uncertain waters of the COVID-19 pandemic. We realize that even though these are challenging times, it is also a great opportunity for family to spend more time with each other and to grow spiritually together.  And so even if we are no longer able to meet together at church, ECCC Children Ministry is committed to supporting and providing you and your family with resources to do just that.

Every week we will provide short online lesson and video links for our programs. As parents, you are the main spiritual influence and mentors of your children and so we highly encourage you to go through these lessons and videos with your children.

If you have not done so already, it is important that you sign up to follow our eccckids website at eccchurch.ca/kids (see bottom right corner of site to sign up using your email address). This will ensure that all our online resources, lessons, and updates will be delivered to your email the moment we post them.

Below are details on how we will provide online resources and lessons for each of our programs:

FRIDAY AWANA & KAIO FELLOWSHIP

Our Awana leaders and Kaio Counsellors will continue to email their small group’s parents every week (most likely on Fridays).  For Awana, leaders will send out a personal weekly email letting you know what lessons your child will need to complete for that week.  Similarly, Kaio counsellors will also send out a weekly personal email to their small group parents.  Attached to the email will be a Parent Take Home Note for each week, which gives simple instructions and suggestions for you to go over with your child. A video link that goes with each week’s lesson will also be attached.

SUNDAY SCHOOL/JUNIOR CHURCH

Please note we are combining our Sunday School and Junior Church programs into one online Family Worship Time every week.  Every Saturday on our eccchurch.ca/kids website, we will post YouTube links for a couple of worship songs you can sing with your children.  A link to a simple Bible lesson will also be posted for you to go over with your child along with a video link that goes with the lesson.  There will be links for songs and lessons for Toddler & Preschool, and links for songs and lessons for K-Gr.4.  Please choose according to your family’s needs.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact Mase Wong (Mase.Wong@eccc.ca) or Sunsy Kwok (Sunsy.Kwok@eccc.ca)

Praying For Fruitful Times With Your Family,

ECCC Children Ministry Leadership Team

Children’s Ministry Update regarding Children’s Programs

Yesterday, we posted a churchwide update regarding the suspension of church programs and in-person worship services for the month of March. This includes all children ministry programs (such as Awana, Kaio, Saturday Church Children’s program, Sunday School and Junior Church). Elevation (for Grade 4-8) is also suspended.

On Saturdays and Sundays, we encourage families to worship together in any of online ECCC worship services. This is a great opporunity for parents and children to worship as one united familiy regardless of language and age, which is what intergenerational worship is all about.

For our Friday programs, we encourage children to continue to work on the Awana handbooks or their Kaio take home sheets.

We are committed to keeping you updated and for any updates regarding children’s ministry, please visit eccchurch.ca/kids
