PART-TIME SENIOR BOOKKEEPER
Position Summary:
Provide excellent service to the staffs, members, and vendors of ECCC Church adhering to and maintaining a system of fiscal responsibility and responsible stewardship.
Key Requirements:
➢ A growing relationship with Jesus Christ
➢ 2+ years of experience in an accounting role, charity experience considered an asset.
➢ Postsecondary diploma or equivalent in Business/Accounting
➢ Knowledge of accepted accounting rules, practices, charitable tax laws, and reporting requirements
➢ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
➢ Computer literate, including effective working skills of Sage 50, MS Word, Excel, Google Docs and email
➢ Ability to adapt to and learn new software
➢ Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently
➢ High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis and/or reasoning
➢ Ability to work under pressure and meet set deadlines
➢ Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills
➢ High level of personal integrity and work ethic, attention to detail in all areas
Key Responsibilities:
➢ Reconcile balance sheet accounts such as bank reconciliations, AP aged Listings etc.
➢ Ensure accuracy of the balance sheet, investigate & resolve discrepancies or variances as necessary
➢ Prepare Monthly Departmental Income Statement
➢ Maintain Weekly Offering Report and database
➢ Prepare Monthly Financial Statement
➢ Set Up Bi-weekly payroll run and accounts
➢ Apply for GST rebate semi-annually
➢ Assist pastors to prepare clergy allowance application prior to November 1st annually
➢ Prepare T4, T4A, T4ANR, T5 (if need), WCB report and Charity Return annually
➢ Assist with auditing from internal and external requests
➢ Provide coverage when the other bookkeeper is absent
➢ Other duties as assigned
